Hello humans,
I’m a fan of slow productivity, it gives an energy of pause and focus.
Not rushing to finish or being a perfectionist. It will happen when it’s meant to.
I‘ll do the work, enjoy the work and the process will be the biggest achievement.
On that note, my effort continues in the DTH Lab to create a website that appears to be from the early 2000s. During the time that it was fun to log online, surf the web and hang out at a website.
I built Snake, the game that caused many Nokia 3310's to be thrown across the room, explode and nonchalantly put back together.
I’m working on a custom kaleidoscope which aims to grow and evolve over a set period of time. You can try version 1.0 here. It looks like AI and behaves like AI yet there is zero AI in the backend. It’s all code.
I finally released Makisi, a single take song looping a bunch of African drums (digitally). It passed the car test, although if you’re not a fan of h heavy bass, you may not turn it up to 11. It's on Spotify, Apple Music and all good bookstores
I revisited a poem I wrote a few years ago called "How they became a dragon". I woke up one morning recently noticing the flaws in everyday life. After a brief reality check (”Look at you/me being a human constructing things in your brain“) I realized I was just telling myself a story.
And the story we tell ourselves is far more important than what’s happened to us.
Coaching 1-1s
Working with “Everyday Athletes” at Method in Lower Hutt. We are a rehab to high performance centre focussed on education and results. You can get in touch with me by flicking an email.
Also feel free to ask me any fitness/exercise questions (I love lists!).
Whatever you’re doing today, this week and right now, I hope you’re being a good friend to yourself.
Human love,
Dan
